The last few minutes were played out following a lengthy delay. All at Staines Town FC wish Mark a full and speedy recovery.

Blue Square have announced details of their historic ‘Non-League Ground Hop’ to coincide with Non-League Day 2011.
The leading interactive bookmaker, sponsors of the three Football Conference divisions, have produced a day for all football fans to savour in Essex. It will be possible for fans to attend a match in all three Blue Square Bet divisions on Saturday, 3rd September. The day kicks-off at 12.30 with the Blue Square Bet North clash between Bishop’s Stortford and Boston United – featuring former Premier League stars Ian Walker and Jason Lee in opposing dug-outs. Fans will then make the short trip to Chelmsford City to watch their Blue Square Bet South match against fellow promotion-favourites Dover Athletic – kick-off 3.30pm. The day ends at newly-promoted Braintree Town who host Lincoln City in the Blue Square Bet Premier, with a kick-off time of 7pm.
It will be the first time (and possibly last time) that fans will be able to attend a match in all three Conference divisions on the same day and Blue Square have assisted in providing coaches to help fans make the ‘hop’.
For a small (£5) charity donation to ‘Marie Curie Cancer Care’, fans will be able to take a coach after the Bishop’s Stortford match which will drop them at the other two fixtures and return back to Bishop’s Stortford in the evening.
Fans who take the coach will also be given a souvenir t-shirt to commemorate the day. Fans can of course make their own way to all three fixtures and limited parking will be available. Fans wishing to reserve a place on the coach and/or a parking space at Bishop’s Stortford are required to e-mail sponsorship@bluesq.com. Standard admission prices will apply on the day – with the cheapest adult total admission cost for all three games coming in at a very reasonable £38.50p (senior citizens and child discounts will be available).
Non-League Day (NLD) is a celebration of the semi-professional and amateur game, and a chance for fans of bigger clubs to experience football at a level they may be otherwise unfamiliar with. Set to coincide with a blank weekend in the Barclays Premier League and npower Championship due to International Matches – the initiative first took place in September 2010, proving a huge success.

Congratulations to Steve Cordery . . . Today 9th August Steve marked his 3000th day as Staines Town Manager, having been appointed on 23rd May 2003.
This period has encompassed 525 First Team matches, in which we have scored 876 goals and conceded 662. A win at Welling on Saturday would take his tally up to 250; there have been 121 draws and 155 defeats.
Steve's success rate of 58.9% (counting 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and ignoring Carataker Managers with fewer than 5 games in charge) is second only to Alan Gane's 65.5% in 1987-9, and his number of wins (now 249) is only surpassed by Ken Ballard's total of 404, achieved over two spells totalling almost 15 years.
Well done Steve . . .

SWANS v WYCOMBE WANDERERS - Sat 9th July - KO 3pm . . .
Promoted Wanderers to kick-off at Wheatsheaf Park….
With a handful of irons still in the fire, the Swans are delighted to confirm a date and exciting opposition for our opening pre-season game to kick off a series of friendly matches ahead of the new 2011/12 BlueSq Bet South campaign.
Newly promoted League One club Wycombe Wanderers will be the visitors to our Wheatsheaf Park home on the afternoon of Saturday, 9th July with kick-off at 3:00pm. The Bucks side, under former Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock, being happy to confirm that this will also be their first senior friendly ahead of their return to the NPower League One, after they secured automatic promotion from League Two on the final day of the campaign earlier this month. Secretary Keith Allen from the Buckinghamshire club confirmed “it will be our first outing since achieving promotion will contain the full first team squad including some new signings of which our supporters can get their first sight.”
Of course the excellent Wheatsheaf Park pitch and facilities are a big factor in getting these top sides down to our humble home and, in this case, it’s the familiar surroundings that have previously been experienced by the current Chairboys manager Waddock, who brought his former Aldershot Town side to play the Swans three years ago.
Swans manager Steve Cordery, who’s currently busy trying to seal a handful of new signings to bolster the squad himself, will see this opening action of the pre-season schedule as a very useful leg-stretcher for his players who’re are due to convene for pre-season training only four days prior. However, such games are also about bringing in vital funds to the Club ahead of the campaign and it is hoped that Swans supporters and other interested locals will come down to Wheatsheaf Park and be joined by a healthy contingent from our opponents on the day.
News on the further Swans pre-season schedule will follow in due course with more exciting news regarding some potential new signings also on the horizon.
